Please join SURJ Baltimore for these upcoming events!
If you know of any events that we should be including in this weekly newsletter, please let us know by emailing surjbaltimore@gmail.com The events below include many that are led by people of color, some of whom are Baltimore SURJ’s accountability partners. It’s important that when white people show up, we follow their leadership.

Saturday, November 12
Learn Deep Canvassing techniques with NOVA and DC SURJ -
Last chance for new canvassers!
10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
This is the final fall deep canvassing day for folks who are new to deep canvassing, so if you've been thinking about joining in or are curious about what deep canvassing is all about, now's your chance!  For folks who have been deep canvassing before we'll be running a smaller training focused on how we're sharing our stories on the doors (And for folks who can't make it this time- there will be more deep canvassing weekends in the spring!)

GOALS: With SURJ NoVA and SURJ DC, we'll learn about how to ask questions and listen to other white folks who are conflicted about race, with the goal of changing hearts and minds. The day starts with lots of support, a full training, and practice with a partner. We'll be on the doors talking with people and then coming back so we can learn together about what worked and what didn't. Research has proven this strategy can actually move people but it's new to the movement for racial justice.

If you are interested, contact Betty Robinson, bettygrobinson@gmail.com for more information and for car-pooling.
